Champions for Youth

The Boys & Girls Clubs in Colorado proudly honor Representative Jennifer Bacon, Representative  Rick Taggart, Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer, and Senator Jeff Bridges as this year’s Champion for Youth Award recipients. These dedicated legislators have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to creating brighter futures for young people across Colorado.

Through their collective sponsorship of House Bill 24-1331, they have championed the establishment of a state grant program for comprehensive, high-quality out-of-school time providers. This critical legislation will provide invaluable resources to ensure that more children and teens have access to safe, enriching, and empowering opportunities outside of school hours. Their leadership and advocacy will leave a lasting impact on youth statewide, fostering a stronger foundation for success.

We extend our deepest gratitude to these outstanding public servants for their commitment to the next generation and for all Boys & Girls Clubs in Colorado.

Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer
