Boys & Girls Clubs in Colorado Hosts Youth of the Year Competition and Celebration April 16

Youth of the Year 2024

NEWS RELEASE | DENVER — April 2024 — Outstanding youth who were nominated by Boys & Girls Clubs from across Colorado will compete in the annual Colorado Youth of the Year Competition on April 16. The event will be held at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, located at 2001 Colorado Blvd., from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The Youth of the Year Program recognizes extraordinary Club members for their leadership, service, academic excellence, and dedication to be a positive voice in their community. Each Colorado Boys & Girls Club nominates one youth to advance to the state-level competition in Denver. The young person named Youth of the Year will receive scholarships and advance to the regional competition. The competition is held over two days and includes interviews, speeches, and a review of the youth’s academic achievement and impact on their local Club and community.

At the event, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser will receive the 2024 Champion for Youth Award. This award honors state leaders and elected officials who serve as strong advocates for Colorado’s young people.

The 2024 Youth of the Year event title sponsor is Credit Union of Colorado. With this generous support, the event continues to provide a platform for young Club members to showcase their remarkable achievements and aspirations. Credit Union of Colorado's commitment to empowering youth aligns with the values of the Boys & Girls Clubs, making it an invaluable partnership in celebrating the potential of Colorado's youth.
