Attorney General Phil Weiser Attends Boys & Girls Clubs in Colorado’s Legislative Summit

NEWS RELEASE | DENVERFeb. 17, 2023Boys & Girls Clubs in Colorado, a nonprofit organization that advocates for and provides support to Colorado’s 17 member Clubs, today announced that Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser was a special guest at the group's annual Legislative Summit.

Weiser joined Boys & Girls Club CEOs, youth, and leaders from across the state to participate in an open dialogue regarding Youth Substance Use and Mental Health, which was moderated by Rise Above Colorado’s CEO, Kent MacLennan.

“I am proud to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs in Colorado and Rise Above Colorado to empower Colorado youth and support opportunities for young people to connect with one another and adult mentors outside of school,” said Weiser. “These opportunities not only enable young people to lead successful lives but also cultivate future leaders in the process.”

Weiser detailed several initiatives that his office is critically focused on and discussed best practices to support the social and emotional health needs of youth statewide.

The presentation was a “calling for all of us to broaden our impact,” said CEO Bruce LeClaire, Boys & Girls Club of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.
